Williamsburg Leaders Set to Announce Endorsements Backing Andrew Cuomo

In a major development just days before the primary elections in the NYC Mayoral race, sources confirm that both major leaders of the Satmar community in Williamsburg, Rabbi Moshe Indig and Rabbi David Niederman, are endorsing Andrew Cuomo for Mayor of New York City.
Though the endorsements were made independently, the result is the same: Hasidic Williamsburg supports Cuomo, a rare show of unity from the two leading factions of the Satmar community.
According to sources, Rabbi Moshe Indig’s endorsement is expected to be announced Monday, followed by Rabbi David Niederman’s endorsement on Tuesday. Together, their backing delivers a major bloc of support in advance of the June 24th Democratic primary.
The Williamsburg Satmar community represents tens of thousands of voters, and this rare unity sends a powerful signal citywide.
