What’s Open and Closed This Holiday Season

As the holidays approach, here’s a quick guide to what’s open, closed, or running on a modified schedule:

Banks: Most banks will close on December 25. Mobile banking and ATMs will still be available. The NYSE and NASDAQ will not trade on December 25.

Mail & Shipping: USPS services pause on December 25. FedEx and UPS have adjusted hours on December 24, while only FedEx Custom Critical and UPS Express Critical operate on December 25.

Sanitation Services: The NYC Department of Sanitation will not collect trash, recycling, or curbside composting on December 25. Residents with Wednesday collections can set their materials out Wednesday evening for pickup on December 26, though delays are common.

Government Offices: All government offices will be closed on December 25.

Transit & Parking: NYC subways and buses will run on a Sunday schedule on December 25. Alternate side parking is suspended on December 24 and 25, and parking meters will not be in effect on December 25.
