Wind Advisory Issued for New York City — Gusts Up to 50 MPH Possible

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for New York City, in effect from Sunday at 12:00 PM through Monday at 6:00 PM.

Forecasters warn of strong sustained winds with gusts reaching up to 50 miles per hour, particularly across Brooklyn and other coastal areas. The advisory comes as a coastal system moves through the region, also bringing periods of rain and localized flooding.

Residents are urged to secure property, Sukkahs, and outdoor items, and to use caution due to the risk of flying debris and falling branches during the height of the storm.

The advisory remains in effect through Monday evening as conditions gradually improve.
