FDNY Ladder 102 was once again involved in an accident, this time at Nostrand Avenue and Dekalb Street, where it was later seen being towed away.
According to reports, this same truck has been involved in several accidents in recent months, prompting concern among local residents. Some noted that the current vehicle is a replacement truck, following a recent incident in which the previous one was severely damaged. While Williamsburg365 has not independently confirmed this detail, conversations with nearby residents revealed growing fear and concern over the repeated accidents.
Neighbors say the truck often travels at high speeds through crowded streets, in an area with many pedestrians and large families with children. Community members are calling on the FDNY to review driver training and safety protocols to help prevent future incidents.
“This truck missed me by a hairline yesterday,” one resident told Williamsburg365. “My heart skipped a beat with fear, it literally missed me by a split second.”
Another resident said, “He knocked into a pole yesterday. Is this normal?”
Others described similar experiences, mentioning incidents where the truck was seen driving the wrong way on Bedford Avenue and being involved in more than one accident in a single day, raising questions about the department’s handling of the situation.
These accounts reflect a deepening sense of alarm among Williamsburg residents, who say they simply want safer streets and greater accountability from city emergency operators.
