The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect believed to be involved in a pattern of thefts reported within Brooklyn’s 79th Precinct.

According to police, the incidents took place on two separate nights in November near the area of Willoughby Avenue and Marcy Avenue. In each case, a man approached a female victim and took personal property before fleeing the scene on foot. No injuries were reported in either incident.

Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket, black pants, and black sneakers, and was carrying a red backpack. Surveillance images from one of the incidents have been released as investigators work to identify the individual.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information related to these incidents is urged to contact the NYPD at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
