NYC Crushes Thousands of Illegal Guns

This morning, Mayor Eric Adams and NYPD Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch destroyed 3,375 illegal handguns and 200 rifles, part of over 21,000 seized since the Mayor took office. The guns were crushed at a facility in Westbury, New York.

The metal from the destroyed guns will be repurposed by students at the School of Cooperative Technical Education, where they’ll craft a memorial for victims of gun violence.
