Mayor Adams Brings Together Both Satmar Factions to Meet Andrew Cuomo
By Williamsburg Staff
In a rare show of unity, representatives from both Satmar factions — Rabbi Moshe Indig and Rabbi Moshe Dovid Niederman — met this evening with NYC mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo, joined by Mayor Eric Adams.
The meeting took place at a private rooftop venue in Williamsburg, where discussions focused on community priorities and the upcoming election season.
According to attendees, neither Satmar faction issued an endorsement or formal statement of support. The visit served as an opportunity for Cuomo to engage both community leaders and seek dialogue as the race for City Hall intensifies.
The gathering was widely seen as a notable moment of cooperation, with Mayor Adams facilitating the meeting between both Satmar sides — a gesture viewed as meaningful within Williamsburg’s Hasidic community.
