Major Gas Leak on Flushing Avenue

By Williamsburg 365 Staff

Con Edison and Emergency Services were called to address a gas line that was struck at Flushing Avenue and Bedford Avenue intersection, resulting in a major gas leak.

Residents in the vicinity reported hearing a loud noise attributed to the high pressure of the gas leak. The incident occurred at approximately 11:55 AM. FDNY units responded promptly and are currently on the scene.

Due to the severity of the leak, Flushing Avenue is completely closed from Marcy Avenue to Nostrand Avenue, and traffic is building up in the area as a result of the closures. Efforts are underway to secure the site and repair the damaged gas line.
