Homeowner Fleeing Break-In Falls into Chimney

In a dramatic incident late last night, a homeowner attempting to flee a break-in became stuck in a chimney.

The unusual event occurred around 12:45 a.m. on Dekalb Ave, when a suspect entered an apartment to steal valuables. In a panicked attempt to escape, the frightened homeowner ran, jumped out of a window, and fell into a neighbor's chimney.

The situation prompted a swift response from emergency services, including FDNY, NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit, and EMS, who arrived at the scene to manage the rescue.

Thankfully, the homeowner was successfully freed from the chimney and treated on-site for minor injuries. Authorities are currently investigating the break-in attempt.
