Groundbreaking Ceremony at G Station
By Idy Perl
Officials celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for a $57 million project that will make the Classon Avenue station along the G line fully accessible.
MTA chair and CEO Janno Lieber said the new project will include three new elevators, 3,500 additional square feet of space throughout the station, refurbished staircases, and four new turnstiles.
This ceremony comes at a time when several similar accessibility projects might have to be put on hold due to Hochul canceling the congestion toll, which would’ve funded parts of those projects.
