Early morning fire in Williamsburg building leaves one hospitalized

An overnight fire broke out inside a Williamsburg building, leaving one person hospitalized and drawing a large emergency response to the area.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on South 1st Street near Borinquen Place, where flames were reported on an upper floor. Firefighters worked from outside using ladders as crews moved to contain the fire.

One individual was taken to the hospital, while two others were treated at the scene and did not require transport.

The situation was brought under control within about an hour. Authorities have not yet determined what caused the fire, and the condition of the injured person has not been released.
