Driver Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run on Bedford Avenue

A man has been arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run that took place last October at the corner of Bedford and Lafayette Avenues.

Jerry Gelle was taken into custody and now faces multiple charges including criminally negligent homicide and leaving the scene of an accident. Investigators say Gelle was behind the wheel of a car that struck and killed another man in the early morning hours of October 10, 2024.

The arrest comes following months of investigation by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad.
