BREAKING: Three Suspects Arrested Following Shooting Spree in Williamsburg

On Wednesday, a vehicle drove through Williamsburg, randomly firing at pedestrians with a weapon resembling a BB gun that shoots gel capsules. Shomrim and NYPD quickly teamed up, launching an overnight search for the suspects.

Today, the same vehicle returned to the neighborhood and carried out another attack, targeting a total of seven victims, none of whom were injured. Shomrim’s new license plate reader (LPR) technology detected the vehicle, enabling rapid identification, as the vehicle was in the neighborhood, coordinator Yanky Itzkowitz, who worked tirelessly on the investigation, told Williamsburg 365.

Shomrim immediately alerted the NYPD prompting a swift response from public safety teams. After a pursuit, three suspects were arrested, and the gel-capsule weapon was recovered.

The suspects are being charged with second-degree assault. The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is actively investigating the ongoing case.
