We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Chaim Shmiel Spilman, the proprietor of Spilman's Fish Store on Division Avenue. He was approximately 68 years of age, and passed away following an illness.

The niftar was the son of Reb Shlomo Elozor Spilman, the original owner of the fish store, a Holocaust survivor and a true ehrliche Yid.

The niftar was a true Satmar talmid who lived with the teachings of the Rebbe, the Divrei Yoel of Satmar. The Rebbe famously asked his chassidim to collect money for the needy so that they could feel what it means to stretch out their hands in need. Reb Chaim Shmiel lived with this, and would tirelessly make the rounds to collect money, in the heat and in the cold, as well as during the height of his illness, with complete mesirus nefesh.

In recent years, he was very sick, but he never lost his smile or his commitment to his Torah'dige ways.

Reb Chaim Shmiel leaves behind beautiful Torah generations.

The levaya took place at 6:45 yesterday afternoon in front of the Satmar Beis Medrash in Kiryas Yoel, and kevurah took place on the beis hachaim in the village.

Yehi zichro baruch.
