By Williamsburg 365 Staff
The Williamsburg Shomrim welcomed Assistant Chief Mark A. Vazquez, Commanding Officer of Patrol Borough Brooklyn North, to their new headquarters yesterday afternoon.
Assistant Chief Vazquez was joined by Detective Kenny Melendez and the commanders of the 90th, 81st, 94th, and 79th Precincts for a tour of the new facility. Shomrim leaders introduced the Chief to their team and gave an inside look at how they serve residents, respond to calls, and coordinate closely with local precincts.
During the visit, Assistant Chief Vazquez expressed his deep appreciation for the Shomrim’s partnership, stating: “Shomrim are a great asset and a great ally to the NYPD — always helping us with video footage, shootings, robberies, and so many investigations. Their efforts have helped solve hundreds, if not thousands, of cases. It’s truly an honor to work closely with Shomrim. I also want to thank the coordinators for their outstanding efforts, especially their assistance on Bedford Avenue during the New York City Marathon, helping us reopen the area safely and efficiently.”
