Antisemitic Attack in Williamsburg on Shabbos: Orthodox Jewish Man Punched in Face

An Orthodox Jewish man was punched in the face late Friday night while walking home in Williamsburg, suffering injuries to his eye and surrounding area. The incident occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m., and the suspect allegedly shouted antisemitic slurs during the assault.
The NYPD 79th Precinct and Shomrim Shabbos Patrol responded to the scene. The NYPD apprehended the suspect, a 35-year-old woman, who was charged with assault and aggravated harassment.
The incident occurred on Willoughby Avenue near Nostrand Avenue. The suspect allegedly verbally harassed the victim for several blocks, shouting antisemitic slurs and threatening him. The victim, a Shomrim member, was walking with his wife and children at the time.
The case is being investigated by the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force. Hatzolah responded and treated the victim at the scene.
