Williamsburg Streets Reopened Early Thanks to Local Askanim and Agencies
By Williamsburg 365 Staff
Williamsburg residents are expressing deep gratitude to a group of local askanim, agencies, and community leaders for their exceptional efforts in reopening neighborhood streets quickly after the recent marathon passed through the area.
This year, streets were opened much earlier than usual, a first for the Williamsburg community.
The coordinated effort included Shomrim headed by Lemel Markwoitz and Yanky Iskowitz, Chaveirim, the local NYPD, NYPD Community Affairs of the 90th Precinct, DSNY, and the support of askanim like R’ Moshe Weiser.
Moments after the marathon runners cleared the Williamsburg area, teams moved in to clean the streets, clearing debris and managing traffic to allow for a prompt reopening.
Residents , who typically expect prolonged closures on marathon days, were pleasantly surprised to see traffic flow restored so soon.
