Williamsburg Apartment Destroyed by Menorah on Friday Night

A fire that reportedly started from a menorah broke out on the top floor of 607 Bedford Avenue on Friday night at 8:25 p.m., quickly growing into a large blaze that destroyed an entire top-floor apartment, Williamsburg 365 News has learned.

FDNY and Williamsburg Hatzolah responded to the scene.

Sources tell W-365 that emergency crews removed a homebound patient from the first floor of the building as firefighters worked to contain the flames and secure the area. In addition, the apartment on the floor below the affected apartment was being prepared for a chosson-kallah to move in in the coming weeks. This apartment, although unoccupied at the time, sustained intense water damage

No injuries were reported from this incident, thankfully, and the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
