Temporary daytime road closures at all MTA Bridges and Tunnels will end by 1 p.m. on Dec. 31. Roadwork and soft lane closures may resume on Jan. 2 during off-peak hours as conditions allow.

Times Square will see extensive closures from West 34th to West 59th Streets between Sixth and Eighth Avenues starting at 4 a.m. Spectator entrances open at 3 p.m., with the ball lighting at 6 p.m. and the countdown at 11:59 p.m. Expect heavy congestion in the area throughout the day.

In Brooklyn, major roads and highways will also experience significant traffic due to New Year’s Eve celebrations. Drivers are advised to plan extra travel time.
