Weekend Closure Planned for Williamsburg Bridge Brooklyn-Bound Roadway

The New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) has announced a full weekend closure of the Brooklyn-bound outer roadway on the Williamsburg Bridge as part of ongoing rehabilitation work.
The closure is scheduled to begin at 10:00 p.m. Friday, April 17, and will remain in effect until 5:00 a.m. Monday, April 20, totaling approximately 55 hours.
During this time, only passenger vehicles will be allowed to travel on the inner roadway. Trucks and buses will not be permitted on the bridge and will be redirected to use the Manhattan Bridge as an alternate route.
NYCDOT has set up detours for Brooklyn-bound truck traffic, directing vehicles through Delancey Street with connections via Essex Street or Clinton Street before heading toward the Manhattan Bridge entrance.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead, expect delays in the area, and follow posted detour signs throughout the weekend.
