Two Teenage Girls Killed in Suspected Subway Surfing Tragedy at Marcy Avenue Station
A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded early Shabbos morning when two teenage girls were killed in what authorities believe was a subway surfing incident at the Marcy Avenue station in Williamsburg.
Shortly after 3:00 a.m., NYPD officers responding to a 911 call discovered the two girls unconscious and unresponsive on the roof of the last car of a J train that had just crossed the Williamsburg Bridge from Manhattan.
Officers and emergency personnel immediately began CPR, but both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police sources, the victims are believed to be teenage girls, one reportedly just 13 years old. Their identities are being withheld pending family notification.
The NYPD and MTA are actively investigating how the girls accessed the roof and whether social media challenges or peer activity played a role.
