The Post Office That Refuses to Deliver on Its Duty

Williamsburg residents are voicing frustration over the USPS office at 609 Myrtle Avenue, which continues showing infuriating and confusing behavior towards customers.
As per reports, customers were denied service when recently dropping off packages because they don’t live in the “right” zip code. The clerk refused to accept packages from individuals who don’t reside in the 11205 zip code where the post office is situated.
The USPS cannot restrict where you can drop off a package if it has the correct postage and label. The postal service handles packages through its national network, so it processes mail and packages regardless of the drop-off location.
This is not the first time this branch has come under scrutiny- back in September, Williamsburg 365 received several messages from locals recounting their experience with clerks displaying a lazy attitude at this post office.
The USPS workers informed customers that they were “too busy” to accept packages and would be pausing that service for the time being.
This latest incident raises serious questions about the accountability of USPS operations.
