Satmar Wedding Returns to Main Shul Following Massive Expansion
By Williamsburg 365 Staff
Tonight marks a momentous occasion for the Satmar Kehila as the grandchild of the Rebbe will celebrate their wedding in the main shul - a return to tradition after several recent weddings were held elsewhere due to limited space.
The decision comes in the wake of a massive and historic expansion of the historic shul, which included raising the roof significantly enabling to build taller bleachers. These upgrades now allow thousands of chasidim to attend comfortably, restoring the main shul as the centerpiece for major celebrations.
Community members and visitors alike are eagerly anticipating the event, which highlights not only a simcha in the Rebbe's family but also the remarkable architectural achievement of the historic shul.
