Satmar Unveils Plans for Two New Tekanah Wedding Halls in Expanded Cheder Building
By Y.M. Lowy
Work is moving ahead at the Satmar Cheder building as the former Ateres Avraham hall is replaced with two new wedding halls. The building was gutted and expanded over the last two years, and the cheder opened at the start of this school year. With classrooms finally in use, construction has shifted to the halls.
The project aims to give families beautiful, high quality spaces that do not feel like basic takana halls, while still keeping costs low. The two halls are part of the newly enlarged Ateres Yoel building and will follow the same pricing model as the Pardes halls.
One hall will be called Eden Yoel after the Satmar Rebbe zy"u. The second will be Eden Alta Feiga after the Satmar Rebbetzin. The donor behind the project dedicated the halls with the intention of helping families make weddings with dignity.
As construction continues, the Satmar Kehilla is looking forward to two brand new, spacious halls that will host many simchos in the years ahead.
