Satmar Chassidim Joyfully Anticipate New Shul “Lev Aharon” Opening
By Idy Perl
Satmar chassidim in the South 8th neighborhood of Williamsburg are eagerly anticipating the grand opening of their new shul this week. The shul will be named Lev Aharon after the Rebbe’s seforim and is the first Satmar shul to bear this name.
The magnificent new building has hundreds of seats in the spacious heichel, in addition to several smaller shteiblach for more minyanim. The shul also boasts a state-of-the-art mikvah.
Yesterday, while the Rebbe was in Williamsburg for his weekly visit, he toured the new shul and got to see the beautiful space. It was evident that the Rebbe was taking pride in the beautiful shul that will soon be filled with the sounds of hundreds of Satmar chassidim davening and learning.
The shul will celebrate a grand Shabbos this week in honor of the first tefillos being held in the shul. The Satmar Williamsburg Rav will lead the tefillos on Shabbos morning.
