Photo Gallery: Chaverim Assisting Residents and Drivers During Last Week’s Blizzard
The historic snow blizzard of 2026 may be melting away, but during the height of the storm, volunteers from Chaverim were out in full force assisting stranded motorists and residents throughout the neighborhood. As snow rapidly piled up and streets became difficult to navigate, volunteers responded to numerous calls for help across the area.
Among the incidents was a unique response in which volunteers assisted in pulling out a snow plowing truck belonging to the New York City Department of Sanitation that had become stuck while working to clear the roads. In addition to helping drivers whose vehicles were trapped in the snow, Chaverim members also aided residents dealing with storm-related issues during the height of the blizzard.
We have compiled a gallery of photos and videos capturing the remarkable efforts of these dedicated volunteers and others who stepped up to keep the streets moving despite the heavy snowfall. The images highlight the teamwork and determination shown throughout the community during the powerful winter storm.
