NYS Thruway Mincha Rest Stop Relocates For Summer 2024
By Idy Perl
Travelers going up to the mountains for the weekend throughout the summer will now have a new rest area to stop at to daven mincha, since the NYS Thruway Sloatsburg rest stop, where the minyanim have been held for over 20 years, is still under construction.
In collaboration with local askanim, especially law enforcement chaplain Abe Friedman, Rockland Chaverim, and the Spring Valley Police Department, a new location has been set in Spring Valley at the new “Marketplace Mall” that is located right off exit 14 on the NYS Thruway South. The designated mincha area will be in a large tent in the parking lot at 1 Spring Valley Marketplace, Spring Valley NY, and will be open from June 27 through August 29.
The shops in the mall will have special late hours on Thursday so that everyone passing through can get food and drinks and use the restrooms.
To get back onto the thruway, follow signs for the NYS Thruway South.
