NYPD Searching for Four Suspects Linked to Citywide Burglary Pattern; Many in Williamsburg
Yisroel R.
The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying four suspects wanted in connection with a series of commercial burglaries across multiple boroughs, including incidents in Williamsburg and other parts of the city.
Police say the group is responsible for at least 15 break-ins that took place between February 22 and March 9 in the 90th, 94th, 102nd, and 108th precincts. Investigators say the suspects typically forced entry into businesses by prying open doors with tools, breaking glass doors or windows, or accessing keys stored outside the buildings.
Several of the incidents occurred in Williamsburg and Greenpoint, where suspects entered businesses on streets including Broadway, Havemeyer Street, Harrison Avenue, Hope Street, and South 4th Street. Cash, cash registers, checks, and identification documents were taken in some of the break-ins.
During one incident on March 4 at a business on South 4th Street, police said one of the suspects displayed a black firearm before fleeing the location. No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
Additional burglaries were also reported in Queens, including several businesses along Maurice Avenue in Maspeth, where suspects broke glass doors and removed cash registers containing money.
The suspects fled each scene on foot, and their identities remain unknown. The NYPD released surveillance images of the four individuals believed to be responsible.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
