NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon Takes Over Brooklyn Streets

By Idy Perl

This past Sunday the streets of Williamsburg and Brooklyn were filled with runners as they completed the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon. This year’s race had a record-breaking number of runners, 25,000 in total, and 24,461 of them completed the 13.1-mile race.

The route took participants from Williamsburg, to Dumbo, and Downtown Brooklyn before ending at the finish line in Prospect Park.

The NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon was first established in 2011 as the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Marathon and had only 262 runners in its first race. They added the half-marathon in 2018 and stopped doing the full marathon in 2023. Since then they only do the annual half-marathon, which has doubled in size since 2023, when only 11, 721 people participated.

The next race has already been scheduled for April 26, 2026.
