NYC Gets Ready For Half Marathon

NYC Gets Ready For Half Marathon

By Idy Perl

New Yorkers should prepare for street closures on Sunday, March 16, when 27,000 runners will be completing the New York Road Runners United Airlines NYC half-marathon.

For the first time in history the race route will take runners over the Brooklyn Bridge, as the Manhattan Bridge, which is the usual route, is unavailable due to ongoing construction. The 13.1-mile race will start near the Brooklyn Museum, go through Prospect Park and Flatbush Avenue, cross the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan, and then go through Times Square before finishing in Central Park.

Although the Brooklyn Bridge will remain open to vehicles, multiple streets in downtown Brooklyn, Lower Manhattan, and Midtown will be closed.
