New Traffic Signals and Street Lighting Installation Underway Through Friday

By Y.M. Lowy

Residents should expect construction activity this week as crews continue work on the Safe Routes to Schools in Brooklyn and Staten Island project.

Until Friday, July 17, crews will be working from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. installing new traffic signals and electrical street lighting at several streets, including Wallabout Street, Lee Avenue, and Lorimer Street.

During the work, parking restrictions will be in effect on the affected streets. Drivers are advised to follow posted signs and plan accordingly, as sidewalk and curbside access may be temporarily limited.

The work schedule is subject to change due to weather and other unexpected conditions.
