New “Simchos Tamid” Initiative Launched for Pupa Chassidim
By Y.M. Lowy
In the Pupa kehilla, a meaningful new initiative has recently been set in motion to support community members at times of simcha. The new program, Simchos Tamid, was established to unite thousands of Pupa Chassidim in a shared system of contributing and benefiting together when it comes time to make weddings.
A large asifah took place last Wednesday night, Parshas Vayigash, in the Continental Hall in Williamsburg. The event was attended by the Rebbe’s sons, the rabbonim and dayanim of the kehilla, and many devoted members of the community.
As explained at the gathering, each yungerman will contribute $240 per month, regardless of the number of children in the home. When it comes time to marry off a child, the family will be eligible for a $50,000 loan, repayable over many years with manageable payments, allowing simchos to be made with yishuv hadaas and derech kavod.
Thousands of Pupa Chassidim have already begun signing up, both to help fellow Yidden at times of simcha and to ensure they can marry off their own children with peace of mind.
