Massive NYPD Response on Hart Street for Domestic Violence Barricade Incident
A significant police operation unfolded Tuesday night at 89 Hart Street near Marcy Avenue following a domestic violence incident that escalated into a barricade situation.
According to police sources, responding officers from the 79th PCT were informed the suspect involved in the domestic dispute may have been armed and possibly barricaded inside the building. As a result, the NYPD mobilized a large response, including the Emergency Services Unit (ESU), Hostage Negotiation Team, Strategic Response Group (SRG), and other specialized units.
Officers evacuated the building and conducted a full search. After clearing the location, it was determined that the suspect had already fled before police entry.
Despite the large response and initial concerns of an armed individual, the incident was safely resolved with no injuries reported.
