A major fire broke out last night at 927 Grand Street near Catherine Street in Williamsburg, drawing a heavy response from FDNY and multiple emergency service agencies.

The blaze quickly intensified into a third alarm fire, with flames erupting from the first and second floor of a three-story residential building. The fire tore through parts of the building, leading to a partial collapse of the structure as firefighters worked to bring it under control.

As crews battled the heavy fire conditions, the situation escalated and was upgraded to a fourth alarm, bringing in additional units and manpower to assist at the scene. In total, 74 units with over 230 fire and EMS personnel responded to the incident.

EMS treated three firefighters for injuries, including one with moderate injuries and two with minor injuries, who were transported to area hospitals.

Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control after an extended operation, and remained on scene to secure the structure as fire marshals began investigating the cause.
