Makova Rebbe To Spend An Uplifting Shabbos in Williamsburg

By Idy Perl

To the excitement of the Makova chassidim in Williamsburg, the Makova Rebbe has confirmed that he will make a stop during his current trip to New York and will spend this week Shabbos in Williamsburg. The Rebbe is currently in New York for a visit with his chassidim, which coincides with the wedding of the child of one of his close chassidim and a supporter of the kehilla R’ Yaakov Abeles.

The Makova Rebbe, shlit”a, arrived in New York on Sunday and has been staying at the home of R’ Yehuda Dovid Rubinstein in Monsey. Upon arriving on Sunday afternoon the Rebbe traveled to Queens to visit the ohel of the Lubavitcher Rebbes, zt’l. Later that day, back at his lodging in Monsey, the Rebbe attended a sheva brachos for the daughter of his nephew, the Makova Rav of Boro Park.

Throughout the week the Rebbe has visited kivrei tzaddikim in New York, including the Satmar Rebbe zt’l in Kiryas Joel, the kevarim of the Vizhnitz, Ribnitz, Skulen, and Kosov Rebbes at the Viznitz beis hachaim in Monsey, as well as the kever of the Rachmastrivka Rebbe in the Har Shalom Beis Hachaim in Monsey.

The Rebbe will spend this upcoming Shabbos, Parshas Bo, with his chassidim in Williamsburg. The large Satmar building at the corner of Park Avenue and Troop Avenue has been rented out for the occasion, and the tefillos and tish will be held there to accommodate the hundreds of chassidim who will attend and take part in the uplifting Shabbos. The Rebbe will be staying at the home of his chossid, R’ Shlomo Feder, for Shabbos.
