High Winds Wreak Havoc in Williamsburg: Utility Pole Topples, Rooftop Blown Off

By Y.M. Lowy

A live utility pole on the corner of Kent and Division Avenue in Williamsburg was knocked over by high winds, landing directly on a parked car. The incident caused damage to the vehicle, though fortunately, no injuries were reported. The FDNY quickly arrived at the scene to address the downed pole.

Strong winds have been impacting the area, resulting in several reports of wind-related damage throughout Brooklyn. A streetlamp fell onto a fence at a construction site, and a crossing light was also knocked down. Additionally, part of a rooftop was seen being blown off by the winds.

A wind advisory is still in effect for today.
