Hey Williamsburg Residents: If You Use AT&T, You May Be Eligible for a Data Breach Payout

AT&T customers across the country could be eligible for payments of up to $7,500 after the company agreed to a major settlement. The payout comes after two data breaches that exposed personal information belonging to millions of people. A court ordered AT&T to pay $177 million, and the deadline to file a claim has now been extended to December 18, 2025.

The first breach happened in 2019, but it wasn’t revealed until March 2024, when stolen customer data began showing up on the web. That breach exposed information such as Social Security numbers, birth dates and legal names. It affected 7.6 million current AT&T customers and another 65.4 million former account holders.

The second breach took place in April 2024 and was made public in July 2024. In that incident, hackers accessed phone records from 2022 for nearly all 109 million AT&T customers in the United States. The information had been stored in Snowflake, the company’s cloud data warehouse.

After multiple lawsuits were filed, both sides agreed to a settlement in March 2025. People affected by the 2019 breach, called the AT&T 1 Data Incident, will receive a total payout of $149 million. Those affected by the 2024 breach, known as the AT&T 2 Data Incident, will receive $28 million.

Anyone impacted by one or both breaches is eligible for compensation. The claims process is being handled by Kroll Settlement Administration, which has created a website where customers can file their claims. To submit a claim, you’ll need your Class Member ID, which should be in the email notification sent by Kroll.

If you didn’t receive any notification but think you should be included, or if you’re unsure whether you qualify, you can call the settlement administrator at (833) 890-4930.
