Heimishe Woman Critically Injured After Being Struck by Dump Truck

A Heimishe woman was struck by a dump truck while walking on Whyte Avenue near Williamsburg Street West around 9:41 this morning, leaving her in critical condition and prompting a major emergency response. The driver remained at the scene and no arrests have been made as police continue their investigation.

Hatzalah paramedics arrived within minutes and transported the victim to Bellevue Hospital. NYPD Highway Investigation Squad is on scene currently reviewing the crash, while Williamsburg Shomrim is assisting officers with video footage from the area.

The scene remains closed while investigators work, and the usually very busy Wythe Avenue exit off the BQE is shut down for the duration of the crime scene investigation. 

Drivers should expect heavy delays throughout the area and use alternate routes as the investigation continues.
