Hall Street Migrant Shelter Set To Close Before June

There is finally some good news about the migrant shelters in Williamsburg.
City Hall announced that they will closing 10 immigrant shelters in NYC by June, including the 3,500-bed shelter on Hall Street in Williamsburg, which has faced a lot of backlash from local residents.
The closures follow a significant decrease in the number of immigrants that have been arriving to New York and the Adams administrator’s 30- and 60-day limit on migrant shelter stays.
“The additional closures we are announcing today, provides yet another example of our continued progress and the success of our humanitarian efforts to care for everyone throughout our system,” Adams said. “We will continue to do everything we can to help migrants become self-sufficient, while finding more opportunities to save taxpayer money and turn the page on this unprecedented humanitarian crisis.”
