Free Bike Light Giveaway in Williamsburg on October 13

Yisroel R.

The New York City Department of Transportation will be giving out free bike lights in Williamsburg on Tuesday, October 13, as part of its month-long “Biketober” program.

The giveaway will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. along the Kent Avenue bike lane, between North 11th Street and North 12th Street.

Bike lights will be distributed free of charge while supplies last, offering local residents an opportunity to make sure they are properly equipped as daylight hours become shorter during the fall and winter months.

The Williamsburg giveaway is one of several events being held by NYC DOT across the city throughout October. The agency’s “Biketober” initiative includes free bike light and helmet giveaways, delivery worker safety training, and other cycling safety events.

The events are part of NYC DOT’s broader fall traffic safety efforts, which include workshops and resources for parents, caregivers, schools, and community organizations aimed at promoting safer travel throughout the city.
