Flood Watch and Travel Advisory for NYC; Governor Hochul Declares State of Emergency
By Y.M. Lowy
A Flood Watch is in effect from today to Friday afternoon.
New York City has issued a Travel Advisory. Roads may be hazardous, so avoid unnecessary travel and plan ahead. Power outages and strong winds are possible.
Heavy rain and storms could lead to flooding on the roads, especially dangerous for those planning an evening drive up to the Catskills.
Basement apartments are at the highest risk, prepare now with flood barriers or pumps, and have a plan to move to higher ground if needed.
Ahead of the storm, Governor Hochul declared a state of emergency due to the situation.
