Flood Monitoring Expands in Williamsburg

Flood Monitoring Expands in Williamsburg

By Williamsburg 365 Staff

Williamsburg’s latest flood monitoring sensors have now been spotted along Flushing Avenue, between Marcy and Nostrand Avenues.

These sensors, installed as part of NYC’s FloodNet initiative, are designed to track water levels during storms and gather critical data to better understand and combat flooding in vulnerable areas.

The devices, paired with signs explaining their function, assure residents that they do not collect personal or identifying information. A QR code on the sign allows locals to access real-time data from the sensors, further emphasizing the project’s transparency.
