Fire Breaks Out at Williamsburg Hotel

A major fire erupted early Wednesday at the Moxy Brooklyn Williamsburg hotel on Bedford Avenue, sending flames and smoke into the night sky.

The blaze, which started in the outdoor dining area, was under control in about an hour.

Around 215 rooms were occupied at the time, and guests and staff evacuated as the fire surged.

No injuries were reported, and guests were allowed to return afterward, though some chose to leave due to the strong smell of smoke.
