DOB Orders Residents Out After Yesterday’s Fire

By Y.M. Lowy

The massive fire that tore through Lafayette Avenue yesterday afternoon has now left three buildings unlivable.

As we reported, flames from the fire quickly spread to a few houses on the block. The Department of Buildings has ordered three of the affected buildings to be vacated, saying they’re no longer safe to live in.

All residents have been forced to leave until repairs or further evaluations are made.
