Council Member Restler Advocates for Safer Flushing Ave Bike Lane

In an effort to ensure the safety of cyclists, Council member Lincoln Restler recently highlighted an issue with the Flushing Avenue bike lane.
The bike lane, which is flanked by greenery on both sides, had become a potential hazard as the bushes and plants grew over and encroached upon the lane, making it difficult and unsafe for cyclists to navigate.
Recognizing the problem, Restler promptly contacted the DOT, requesting that the overgrown greenery be trimmed back to restore the bike lane to its intended width and usability. The DOT responded to the request and swiftly took action, cutting back the bushes and clearing the lane.
The freshly trimmed greenery now neatly lines the bike lane, allowing cyclists to ride safely and comfortably once again.
