Citi Bike Rolls into More Neighborhoods

Citi Bike Rolls into More Neighborhoods

By Y.M. Lowy

Citi Bike is growing! Starting in the fall of 2025, the popular bike-sharing program will expand into new neighborhoods, closer to Boro Park and Williamsburg.

To meet soaring demand, the system will add 250+ new stations, 2,900 bikes (half electric!), and extra docks in high-traffic areas like Downtown Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Kensington, and Park Slope. By the end of the expansion, more than 5.6 million New Yorkers will live within a five-minute walk of a Citi Bike station!

Mayor Eric Adams and DOT Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez call this a big step toward affordable, eco-friendly transportation for all New Yorkers. Get ready for a smoother ride across NYC!

This comes at a time when the protected bike lane on Bedford Avenue is a hot topic, with Williamsburg residents determined to keep pushing until this safety issue is resolved.
