Chesed of Williamsburg Hosts Appreciation Breakfast for NYU Langone Executive
This morning, Chesed of Williamsburg hosted an Appreciation Breakfast honoring Dr. Andrew W. Brotman, MD, Executive Vice President and Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs and Strategy at NYU Langone Health, in recognition of his upcoming retirement.
Coordinators from Hatzalah of Williamsburg and Chesed leadership were in attendance, expressing their deep appreciation for Dr. Brotman’s years of leadership and his critical role in strengthening the partnership between NYU Langone and the Orthodox Jewish community. NYU Langone—one of New York City’s largest hospital systems—remains a central provider of care for local residents.
During the event, Dr. Brotman was presented with a beautifully inscribed plaque as a token of gratitude for his decades of dedicated service, leadership, and friendship to the community.
Also in attendance was Dr. Alec Kimmelman, MD, the new Dean of NYU Langone, along with Dr. Oren Cholan, who will succeed Dr. Brotman as Vice Dean and Chief Clinical Officer. Community leaders expressed optimism and enthusiasm for continued collaboration under their leadership.
A special tribute was given to Mr. Israel Rosman, Senior Patient/Physician Liaison at NYU Langone Hospital in Manhattan, along with his team members Rafi Kurtz and Aron Brach, for their steadfast support and coordination on behalf of the community.
Mr. Rosman remarked, “Going back over 20 years, our collaboration with Dr. Brotman has helped save hundreds of thousands of lives. It’s a friendship and partnership built on trust, care, and an unwavering commitment to serve the Orthodox Jewish community. Without him, we couldn’t have done it.”
