BDE: Mrs. Elka Soloff, a”h, 101 Year Old

We regret to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Elka Soloff, a longtime resident of Williamsburg, at the age of 101. 

The nifteres was the youngest and last-living child of the legendary Reb Shimon Shain, a hero of Torah observance in Williamsburg of yore.  

She was the wife of Reb Abba Shaul Soloff, the Rosh Hakahal of Yeshivas Nesivos Olam (Malachim) in Williamsburg. 

She’s described as “a queen” known for her brilliance and refinement. She’s remembered as a Chashuv, emesdi’ge, honest, and refined person. She always stood as the right hand of her esteemed husband, and together they established beautiful generations of Bnei Torah and yirei Shomayim. 

The levaya will take place 11:30 at Beis Medrash Nesivos Olam, 205 Hewes Street, and Kevurah will be in Kiryas Yoel.
