Williamsburg: Two Overnight Fires Bring Heavy FDNY & Hatzolah Response, Boruch Hashem No Injuries Reported
By Williamsburg 365 Staff
Williamsburg residents experienced a tense night as two separate fires broke out within hours, prompting a large response from FDNY and Hatzolah.
The first incident occurred at 152 Heyward Street near Lee Avenue, where reports of people trapped sparked urgent searches by firefighters. Thankfully, all occupants managed to exit safely, and primary searches came back negative. No injuries were reported.
A short time later, another blaze erupted in the early morning at 272 Division Avenue. Once again, initial reports suggested people might be trapped, but residents were safely evacuated in time, with no injuries reported.
FDNY Chief Russell Regan, speaking exclusively with W-365 News, confirmed that both fires ended without injuries. He reminded residents to use the incidents as a wake-up call to check their smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms, and to regularly monitor carbon dioxide levels in their homes.
Boruch Hashem, despite the back-to-back emergencies, both situations ended safely.
