Weekly Dee Voch on Newsstands: Parshas Vayera

By Y.M. Lowy

The issue of Dee Voch this week presents photo galleries of the Bobov 45 Rebbe’s granddaughter’s wedding; the Sanz-Klausenburg Rebbe visiting the new mosdos buildings; Hachnossas Sefer Torah to the Sadigura shul in London; Hachnossas Sefer Torah l’zechus R’ Yaakov Meir Schechter; the Vizhnitz Rebbe’s grandsons Vort; the Bar Mitzvah for a grandson of the Munkatch Rebbe; Satmar Williamsburg alumni celebrate a Siyum Maseches Kiddushin; the new zman in yeshiva by the Toldos Tzvi Spinka Rebbe and Vien Rebbe; the Seret-Vizhnitz Rebbe in Boro Park for Shabbos; and the Skver Rebbe from Boro Park visits Gedolei Yisrael before his son’s wedding.

This week’s package comes with a wonderful special supplement filled with hundreds of pictures from the historic “Atzeres Million” held in Yerushalayim. The event was a powerful gathering of Torah, held in light of the many arrests of yeshiva students because of the conscription decree.

Inside, you’ll see pictures of the enormous crowd, something our community hasn’t seen in many years, as well as photos of all the Gedolei Yisrael who took part in the gathering.

The Shrift wrote up an in-depth article about HaGaon Rabbi Shalom Ber Sorotzkin, rosh yeshiva of Ateres Shlomo, who spoke passionately after the massive rally, held following the arrest of yeshiva students and in response to the looming conscription decree. He explains why this rally needed to be organized now and how this is the only Litvishe yeshiva with a mikvah.

The Shrift also pays a visit to the Tzanz guesthouse and kitchen, and holds a conversation with the Tzanz Rebbe, R’ Baruch Halberstam shlit” a, who oversees countless chesed projects: supporting Yerushalmi Yidden in America, helping families celebrate simchos, aiding the sick from around the world, and providing food for the hungry.

The “Print It” print shop is featured in the Business Shrift, for a behind-the-scenes look into the world of printing with the two partners, R’ Shlomo Zeide and R’ Mordchai Fruchter.

The Kinder Shrift is a fun and educational way for kids of all ages to learn new things. This time, we’re taking you behind the scenes to see how kosher tuna fish is prepared, from the moment it comes out of the sea to when it’s ready to enjoy on your plate.
